Entry, stop loss and take profit
These three prices define the risk-reward contract of every signal.
Entry
The price at which the setup becomes valid. On a BUY signal, you want price to be at or near this level before entering. On a SELL signal, you want price near the level on the downside.
Stop loss
This is your line in the sand. If price reaches this level, the setup is wrong and the trade should be closed. Risking a fixed percentage of your account per trade is how you survive losing streaks.
Take profit
The first target is usually a 1.5R reward. The second target is often 2R or higher. Hitting TP1 means you can move your stop to breakeven or close part of the position and let the rest run.
