Risk per trade (1% rule)
Risking a small fixed amount per trade protects your account during losing streaks.
What 1% means
If your account is ₦100,000, a 1% risk trade means you should lose no more than ₦1,000 if the stop loss is hit. PIPFORGE shows this percentage on each card as a reminder.
Lot size connection
The actual lot size depends on the distance between entry and stop loss. A tighter stop lets you use a larger lot; a wider stop means a smaller lot. PIPFORGE doesn't size positions for you, so always calculate your own lot size before placing the trade.
Why it matters
Even a strategy with a 60% win rate can have five losses in a row. If each loss is 1%, a bad week costs 5%. If each loss is 10%, the same week costs half your account.
